Professional Training for Warmbloods & Sport Horses

From a young horse’s first education through to schooling, confidence building and preparation for competition, Brookby Heights provides experienced, individual training for Warmbloods and sport horses.

Our approach is shaped around the individual horse — its temperament, level of education, physical development and the goals of its owner.

With limited horses accepted at any one time, every horse receives consistent handling, individual attention and the time needed to develop with confidence.

THE BROOKBY HEIGHTS APPROACH

Individual Training for Individual Horses

No two sport horses develop in exactly the same way.

Some arrive at Brookby Heights ready to begin their first education under saddle. Others need further schooling, help developing balance and confidence, or support working through a behaviour or training issue.

We take the time to understand each horse’s history, temperament, current level of education and what its owner hopes to achieve.

Rather than forcing horses through a fixed system, we adapt our approach to the individual and build progressively from the foundations already in place.

The aim is to develop horses that are confident, responsive, well mannered and enjoyable to work with — whether their future lies in dressage, show jumping, eventing or another discipline.

Confidence & Problem Horse Training

Behaviour or training difficulties often have an underlying reason.

We take a patient, considered approach to horses that have become anxious, resistant, difficult to handle or challenging under saddle, working to rebuild understanding, confidence and communication.

We can work alongside owners, veterinarians, physiotherapists and other equine professionals to support an agreed rehabilitation and return-to-work programme.

Experience, Patience & Individual Attention

Good training is not simply about teaching exercises. It is about understanding the horse in front of you and building the confidence, communication and foundations needed for lasting progress.

PROGRESSIVE TRAINING

Building Balance, Confidence & Rideability

Whether a horse is early in its ridden career or already established in work, good schooling should make it easier and more confident in what is being asked.

Our approach focuses on developing clear communication between horse and rider while progressively improving balance, suppleness, responsiveness and confidence.

Depending on the horse’s experience and future direction, training may include flatwork, pole work, jumping and exposure to different environments and exercises.

The aim is not simply to produce a horse that performs an exercise.

It is to develop a horse that understands its work, responds willingly and has the confidence and foundations to continue progressing with its owner or rider.

Sale on Behalf

Selling a horse can take time, careful presentation and access to the right potential buyers.

Brookby Heights can assist selected owners with preparing and presenting horses for sale, helping ensure they are shown confidently and professionally to suitable prospective purchasers.

Where appropriate, this may include schooling, presentation, photographs or video, managing enquiries and arranging viewings.

Because each horse and sale is different, contact Karen to discuss whether Sale on Behalf is suitable for your horse.

Stay Involved in Your Horse’s Progress

We understand that sending a horse away for training is a significant decision.

Karen provides regular video updates through Messenger or WhatsApp so owners can follow their horse’s progress and see how its training is developing.

Owners are also welcome to arrange visits, watch their horse work and discuss the next stages of its programme.

Clear communication helps ensure the training remains aligned with the owner’s goals and makes the transition home as straightforward as possible.
