Individual Programmes for Individual Horses

No two horses arrive at Brookby Heights with exactly the same needs.

Some are beginning their first education. Others are returning from a spell, rebuilding fitness, needing a change of environment or progressing through a carefully managed rehabilitation programme.

We take the time to understand each horse—its temperament, maturity, physical condition, previous experience and what will be expected of it next.

With limited horses accepted at any one time, each horse receives consistent handling, individual attention and a programme designed around its needs rather than being expected to fit a standard routine.

Our aim is simple: to return horses that are confident, well mannered, physically stronger and ready for the next stage of their careers.

Owners and trainers receive regular video updates through Messenger or WhatsApp and are welcome to visit by arrangement.

We are happy to work alongside trainers, veterinarians, physiotherapists and other equine professionals involved in your horse’s care.

PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT

Supporting the Whole Horse

Successful training and rehabilitation often involves more than one professional.

Highly respected equine physiotherapist Clare McGowan visits Brookby Heights every second Tuesday, providing convenient access to physiotherapy support where required.

We are also happy to work closely with each horse’s veterinarian and have established relationships with leading veterinary clinics throughout Auckland and Waikato.

This collaborative approach helps ensure the people involved in each horse’s care are working towards the same goal — helping the horse progress comfortably, confidently and appropriately.

Any veterinary or physiotherapy treatment is undertaken in consultation with the horse’s owner or trainer.

Spelling Agistment

Spelling agistment is currently available for a limited number of thoroughbreds.

Our quiet rural environment provides horses with the opportunity to rest, recover and mentally refresh between preparations while remaining under experienced, attentive care.

Because Brookby Heights is intentionally boutique and places are limited, spelling availability may vary depending on current training commitments.

Stay Connected With Your Horse’s Progress

We understand how important it is to know how your horse is progressing while it is away from home or the racing stable.

Karen provides regular video updates through Messenger or WhatsApp, allowing owners and trainers to follow each horse’s progress throughout its stay.

Owners are also welcome to arrange visits to see their horse, discuss its development and stay involved in the process.

We believe clear, regular communication is an important part of good horse care and helps ensure everyone involved is working towards the same goals.
